The city is running National Night Out at Wixson Park on Tuesday, August 4, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wixson sits at 216 S. 3rd St., which puts it three blocks off the 1st Street spine and inside easy walking distance for most of central Selah. The Selah Police Department hosts it, and the format is straight community, not programming.
Two things about that address are worth holding onto if you own a home nearby. River Ridge Golf Course kept coming up in the review data as a spot that changed hands recently and is worth another look. The nine-hole layout reads as playable for a new golfer and interesting enough for a regular one, and the back deck of the restaurant is one of the few open-air dinner seats in Selah with a real view. It is a reasonable Sunday reset before the week starts again.
